Cutback Bitumen MC-70 is a medium-curing liquid asphalt produced by blending penetration-grade bitumen with petroleum solvents such as kerosene. The solvent temporarily lowers the viscosity of the bitumen, allowing easy application at ambient temperatures without the need for heating.
After application, the solvent gradually evaporates, leaving a durable asphalt residue that performs effective bonding and waterproofing functions.
MC-70 belongs to the Medium Curing (MC) category of cutback bitumen. Its controlled evaporation rate allows sufficient time for penetration into porous surfaces before curing, making it suitable for both road construction and waterproofing applications.
The reduced viscosity improves workability, surface wetting, and adhesion to mineral substrates.
Cutback Bitumen MC-70 is widely used for:
Prime coat in road pavement construction
Seal coats to improve chip adhesion
Roof waterproofing systems
Adhesive bonding of chippings on flat roofs
Surface waterproofing and moisture sealing
Plugging capillary voids and bonding loose mineral particles
Patching and stockpile mixtures
It is especially effective where cold application is required and heating facilities are limited.
Easy handling and spraying at ambient temperatures
No need for thinning or heating
Good penetration into granular and porous surfaces
Reliable adhesion to mineral aggregates
Controlled curing for uniform performance
Suitable for road maintenance and waterproofing works
Bulk supply in road tankers
New steel drums with reinforced thickness
Palletized packaging to prevent leakage during transport
Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use
Store and transport at the lowest practical temperature
Keep away from ignition sources
Avoid inhalation of vapors and skin contact
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Prevent product or washings from entering sewer or stormwater systems
Cutback Bitumen MC-70 is manufactured in accordance with ASTM D2028-97 (Reapproved 2004) for Medium Curing cutback petroleum asphalts used in pavement construction and treatment.
